Day 47: Nickelodeon Universe at MOA

Ok, I admit, with the recent snowfall, I briefly took out the Christmas music this weekend!  Couldn’t help myself!  It’s hard to not be in holiday-mode these days, especially if you step inside any retail store!  Soon (or maybe already) you’ll be tackling that holiday shopping list, and in honor of the upcoming Black Friday and following busiest shopping season of the year, I thought we would have a “Mall of America Week” here on 365 Family.  You may find yourself at the MOA for some shopping soon, but it’s also a great place for some indoor fun for the whole family.  We’ll highlight the more popular attractions, but also, perhaps, some places/events you haven’t checked out yet.  Let us know what your favorite thing to do is at the Mall, and if you know any insider secrets!

Today I want to highlight one of the most popular family attractions at the Mall of America….Nickelodeon Universe!  Formerly known as “Camp Snoopy”, Nickelodeon Universe has rides and fun for EVERYONE in your family, no matter what age!  Come visit Dora, the Backyardigans, and Sponge Bob at the world’s largest indoor amusement park.  From kiddie rides for toddler and preschoolers, to fun and unique thrill rides, to rides the whole family can enjoy together….they have it all.

While enjoying the rides, be on the lookout for the different Nickelodeon Characters to be coming out for meet and greet opportunities throughout the day.  There’s a meet and greet area where they will post who will be out and when…then you can come back at that time for a photo op.

Within Nickelodeon Universe there’s some other fun to enjoy too.  Of course there’s different snacks and toy shops and an arcade, but there’s also the Flying Duthman Ghostly Gangplank Ropes and Adventure Course which is the tallest Skytrails Ropes Course in the world.

Rides are based on a point value, which you pay for by purchasing a points pass, or an unlimited wristband, and then scanning your ticket at each ride.  If you plan on being there awhile or riding lots of rides, the wristband is probably the best option.  If you only want to ride a couple rides, and you live nearby to where you’d be back at the Mall sometime in the next year, a points pass is probably your best option because you can save your points and use them on your next visit.  Register for your child to recieve a FREE unlimited all day wristband on their birthday!  Check the website for discounts and promotions to save $$ on your next visit!
